The borough of Pleasant Hills is situated amid Baldwin, West Mifflin, Jefferson Hills, and South Park Township in southern Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Although primarily a bedroom community, Pleasant Hills features three different shopping areas, the Southland Four Seasons Shopping Center, the Bill Green Shopping Center, and the Curry Hollow Center, and is situated next to Century III Mall. Clairton Boulevard, or Route 51, weaves through Pleasant Hills, offering easy access to surrounding neighborhoods. With a low crime rate and high community involvement, Pleasant Hills creates and maintains a safe and peaceful environment.

The Pleasant Hills Arboretum, Breisinger Field, and Mowry Park offer opportunities for outdoor fun. A notable historic landmark in Pleasant Hills is Bear’s Retreat, a private residence built in 1794 as a three-story log cabin using traditional German techniques with various additions throughout the years.

The well respected West Jefferson Hills School District serves Pleasant Hills with six schools: Jefferson Elementary, McClellan Elementary, Gill Hall Elementary, Pleasant Hills Middle School, Thomas Jefferson High School, and the regional technical and vocational high school, Steel Center AVTS.
